Learn how to make Kalakand, Indian style milk cake recipe from our chef Archana on Ruchkar Mejwani. Kalakand is a popular sweet dessert recipe prepared from milk and khawa.


1/4th Litre Milk
75 gms Sugar
1/2 kg Khawa / Mawa
1/2 tsp Cardamom Powder
Almonds, chopped
Pistachios, chopped


– In pan add milk and sugar. Let the milk boil completely.
– Keep stirring the milk till it reaches half of its quantity.
– Then add grated khawa. Keep stirring.
– Add cardamom powder. Mix well.
– Remove the mixture in an aluminium tray.
– Garnish it with chopped almonds and pistachios.
– Let the kalakand set for two hours.
– Cut it in thick slices and serve.
